This post has been in my drafts bin since July. I must have had something better to talk about that day, and I really didn’t want to pay any more attention to GL at that moment.

It still reads strangely now, but I still don’t understand how Gary’s very recent and still-unfolding story could not have crossed Noble’s mind as he wrote that. Even as a friend of Gary, did he think about how Lamb might feel when he read that?

Last week PN did a long series on how to avoid affairs, which made this relevant again, hence its September resuscitation. We don’t know much about Lamb’s affair, but we do know that it started when he went looking for her because he loved working with her. Chemistry sometimes produces bombs.

For me, i guess, i see a repost of a tweet PN and it seems like there must have been some digging going on for it to have been in July.

It seems to be true that Duncan, or any of us for that matter, wouldn’t have to look for things to write about, but that honestly much of it is pretty blatant. Therefore, my concern with the post from that far back.

I just don’t want there to be any reason for this blog to lose credibility, not that JD or anyone i’m sure is seriously worried about that. I just see a good bit of knowledge and truth that gets said on here, and wouldn’t want that to be overshadowed by anything.

The fact that it comes from July makes it worse – for Noble – not Duncan. It was closer to the Lamb affair, and shows the unthinking nature of some of Noble’s comments.

The last line of your quote is correct, though. It doesn’t take digging to find. It just takes observing. Plus, my guess is that Duncan avoids a lot of comments that could be posted, but to avoid overwhelming us, he gives us a representative sample.
