After six months of silence, it’s time to get this blog rolling again, as well as to tell you what I’ve been up to behind these silent pages this summer.
The big news: We adopted a baby.
After years of trying, my wife and I welcomed a baby girl into our family in June. We were privileged to be present at the birth, and have enjoyed the happy disruptions that come with a baby. As you might imagine, holding, feeding, changing, etc seemed more important than blogging. After our experience in 2009, we also decided that little bit of blog silence was our safest route.
Since the last post, I also lead a group of students on a 10-day visit to Switzerland and Germany to retrace the steps of the Protestant Reformers. Contemporary megachurch pastors sometimes fancy themselves as part of the Reformation 2.0, so it was particularly interesting to go back and study the roots of that change. The contrast between the two movements will probably prompt a few future posts.
Speaking of which, expect a bit more activity here now than what you’ve seen in the past six months. I have a few ideas to add some video posts at some point, just to change things up. As time and a young daughter allows, I’ll also be working on a book project or two, the details of which I’ll be revealing here in due time.
Expanded family responsibilities will likely make it difficult to post more than one or two times a week, so I’ve added a couple of options to make PP easier to follow, and that won’t require you to keep checking back to see what’s new. First, you can follow the blog on Facebook by either visiting or liking facebook.com/pajamapages.
Second, you can follow along at @pajamapages.
